12:30 PM - 1:00 PM Project review: Reviewing how the LAPSSET project will improve logistics and “dwell time” when transporting cargo

With transport infrastructure being one of the biggest hindrances in accessing and improving trade in Eastern Africa, Kenya’s current Lamu Port
and Lamu-Southern Sudan-Ethiopia Transport Corridor project plans to raise the level of socio-economic development for the whole region. The session will discuss how logistical challenges will be enhanced through the road and rail corridor linking the port to Ethiopia and South Sudan.
